From the South Follow
A64 into Scarborough Follow signs for Whitby A 171(turn left at traffic lights opposite Bed King then right at mini roundabout by the Crown Pub into Scalby Road).
Pass hospital and continue along until village of Burniston. Immediately after Rix petrol station turn left into Limestone Road (signposted Hackness 4, Harwood Dale 4).
Follow signs for Harwood Dale (via Stone Quarry Road) for 2.5 miles .
Turn left after road sign for left hand junction at new sign (Waites Lane leading toThirley Cotes). 0.3 miles down lane through narrow bends.
Thirley Banks Cottage is 2nd property on the left.

From the North Follow
A171 from Whitby to Scarborough After 12 miles pass the Flask Inn Then 1.7 miles turn right (signposted Harwood Dale 3 miles). Follow road for 2.5 miles (past the Mill Inn).
Turn left (signposted Harwood Dale 1/2 mile, Burniston 5 miles) Follow the road for 1.9 miles through and out of the village (past sign for Grange Farm).
Turn right after road sign for right hand junction. 0.3 miles down lane through narrow bends. Thirley Banks Cottage is 2nd property on the left
