Whitby, rich in history and famous for its connections with Captain Cook, is 15 miles away and here you can explore the Abbey and picturesque harbour, browse around its wonderful shops and visit interesting museums.
Scarborough, Englands oldest seaside resort, is 8 miles away and has an ancient castle set high on the cliffs above two marvellous sandy bays, a pretty harbour and old town.
